
Vincent Cozzolino
A physicist and electrical engineer with over thirty years
experience with the IBM Corporation,
Cozzolino heads
the taskforce of The Solar Energy Consortium. He has held several vice
president positions in high technology fields and was instrumental in
the building and commissioning of IBM’s latest 300mm computer chip fab.
Cozzolino has led global teams and managed thousands of employees
across many countries for IBM. As president and CEO, Cozzolino works to
bring together a state-wide team of academic, business, community,
environmental, utility and labor leaders to establish a new solar
energy industry in New York State.
John Harrington, PHD
Dr. John Harrington leads the research and development activitie
s of
the consortium which will bring together the existing experts in the
solar
energy research within
the public and private institutions in New York State to foster solar
energy solutions. Dr. Harrington holds a PhD in physical chemistry and
was the founding Dean for the School of Science and Engineering at the
State University of New York at New Paltz. As dean he oversaw the
multidisciplinary departments of electrical and computer engineering,
physics, chemistry, geological science and mathematics.
Paul Hakim
Mr. Hakim serves as Chief Financial Officer. He is
responsible for fina
ncial and
corporate development activities related
to the implementation and ongoing operations of the consortium.
He also serves as Vice President of Wilber National Bank, a NY-based
commercial bank and has syndicated numerous personal real estate
ventures and is currently advising and/or active in the management of
many of these operating entities. Previously, Mr. Hakim was
co-founder and director of OWNX Inc., a Silicon Valley based startup
business-to-business marketing services company targeting Fortune 500
corporations.
Petra Klein
As vice president of Operations for the Consortium, Klein manages
the daily operations of TSEC as well as
current and future
projects. She is also in charge of grant writing. Klein also works
closely with the Chief Financial Officer and provides support to the
Research and Development and economic development activities of the
Consortium. Her previous positions include a divisional administrator
for Medical Affairs at a regional hospital and a Corporate Compliance
Officer for the same facility. She holds a Masters in Chemistry with a
background in high temperature superconductors.
Vice Chairman (and acting Chairman) of the Board
Frank Falatyn
He works with industry, academic, environmental, labor and economic
development partners and NY state,
federal and local
governments to create a new "CleanTech" solar energy industry as an
emerging strategic sector for the NYS economy. In addition to his
TSEC work, as President of FALA Technologies, Mr. Falatyn leverages his
company's 63 years of business in precision equipment building to
providing complete technology commercialization programs for the
semiconductor, nano-scale and advanced energy industries. In
2005, New York's Lt. Governor honored Frank with the Small Business
Person of the Year award for his advanced development work in
partnerships with leading semiconductor industry consortia such as
International SEMATECH North and Albany Nanotech.
